⚡ TL;DR — The short version

Overview

Restify ("the Extension") is a free, open-source API client built as a Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles information.

The short answer: it doesn't collect any. Restify is designed to work entirely within your browser without communicating with any external servers operated by us.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Restify does not collect, store externally, or transmit any of the following:

How Your Data is Stored

All data you create in Restify — saved requests, collections, environments, history, and settings — is stored exclusively using the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local). This storage:

If you use Chrome's built-in sync feature, Chrome may sync your extension storage across your own signed-in devices. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not ours.

Network Requests

The only network requests Restify makes are the API requests you explicitly initiate by clicking the "Send" button. These requests go directly from your browser to the target API server you specified — they do not pass through any Restify servers (because there are none).

We have no ability to intercept, log, or view these requests.

Permissions Explained

Restify requests the following Chrome permissions:

Third-Party Services

Restify does not integrate with, or send data to, any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

The Chrome Web Store listing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

Restify does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The Extension is a developer tool not directed at children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we collect no data, any future changes would only add transparency rather than expand data collection.
